Purchases and Billing

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. OWN PLACE LLC does not receive or store your payment card details or Apple Account credentials, and has no database of your purchases.

For charges, receipts, refunds, or purchase history, contact Apple Support (https://support.apple.com/billing) or visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds are granted or denied by Apple under its own policies.

Restore Purchases

If you purchased the full version and it is not unlocked (for example, after reinstalling the App or switching to a new iPhone):

  1. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.
  2. Open the App → Settings → tap Restore Purchases.
  3. Wait for confirmation from Apple.

If a completed purchase is still not recognized by the App after using Restore Purchases, contact us at contact@ownplace.net — that is a technical issue with the App, and we will help.

Evaluation Period

The App includes a 14-day free evaluation period. You will not be charged automatically when it ends. To continue using full functionality, you can complete a one-time non-consumable purchase through Apple at the price shown in your App Store storefront (current US price: USD $7.99). This is not a subscription; there are no recurring charges.

Importing Audiobooks

From Files: Library → Import → choose files or a ZIP archive from the Files app (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or local storage). Supported formats: MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, FLAC.

Wi-Fi Upload (computer-to-phone):

  1. Connect your iPhone and computer to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. In the App, open Wi-Fi Upload — the App will display a local address (e.g., http://192.168.x.x:8080).
  3. Open that address in your computer’s browser and upload your files.
  4. Turn the server off when you are done.

⚠️ Safety: The Wi-Fi Upload server does not use a password. Use it only on a trusted private network — never on public or shared Wi-Fi. While the server is active, other devices on the same network could potentially reach the upload page. Turn the server off immediately after transferring files.

Free Catalogs

The built-in catalogs show audiobooks identified by LibriVox and the Internet Archive as public-domain or otherwise lawfully available. Availability of any particular book and the accuracy of its metadata depend on those services.

Your Files and Backups

Your audiobooks, bookmarks, history, and statistics are stored only on your device (and in your own iCloud, where applicable). We keep no copies and cannot restore deleted content. Deleting the App may delete your imported books and data — keep your own backups of original files.
